Level Up Your Game: Make Self-Mentoring Your Superpower

Dr. Saundra McGuire

While great mentors can provide helpful advice and open doors for you that would otherwise remain closed, people who are successful in their field also have a deep understanding of their own strengths and weaknesses that allow them to make the best decisions for their life and career. In this interactive session, Dr. Saundra Yancy McGuire will teach you the art and science of reflective self-mentoring. By learning to know yourself better, you will come away with strategies to add to the ones you learn from your mentors, making your mentoring experiences even more powerful.

Dr. McGuire, an internationally recognized educator, author, and lecturer and retired Assistant Vice Chancellor at Louisiana State University, has been teaching students to be exceptional self-mentors for over a decade. She is the recipient of numerous awards including the Presidential Award for Excellence in Science, Mathematics, and Engineering Mentoring and being inducted into the LSU College of Science Hall of Distinction.
